We are recruiting male participants for our ongoing studies on sperm metabolism and collective cellular behavior. 

• Study participants must be in the Greenville, NC area. 

• Samples are collected at home at your convenience and returned within 45 minutes of collection. 

• You will be paid for your participation ($25).

• Sperm are used only for research purposes, and will NOT be used or stored for any clinical purposes.

Step 1: Fill out the brief online questionnaire. Anticipated time commitment ~5-10 mins

Step 2: Email schmidtc18@ecu.edu to schedule your visits. 

The study will require two brief visits to the Life Sciences and Biotechnology Building at 101 E. 10th St. Greenville, NC 27858. You may park in the parking lot, but please do not leave your vehicle (to avoid A-lot parking violations). The study coordinator will meet you at your vehicle.

Visit 1: You will be asked to review/sign a consent form (I will provide a hard copy with a pen for you to sign). You will then be provided with a small kit that will include everything you need for home collection and return of the sample. Anticipated time commitment ~3-5 mins + travel.

Visit 2: This second visit (sample drop off) will need to be scheduled in advance. Please note: the semen sample will be time/temperature sensitive and should be collected within no more than 30 minutes of the scheduled drop off time to prevent loss of cell viability.  We ask that you collect the sample at home (following the provided instructions) and return it in-person using the supplied packaging to the life sciences and biotechnology building. You will then receive $25.00 in cash for your time. Anticipated time commitment ~3-5 mins + travel.
